HOW TO PREVENT AND TREAT ITCHY SKIN
Once you’ve figured out the cause of your irritated skin, avoiding that product or habit is generally the most effective treatment. However, if you notice your itchy skin is reoccurring, it’s important to see a dermatologist who can give you an accurate assessment and treatment advice.
When itchy skin strikes, there are a few key things you can do to minimise your discomfort:
- Avoid harsh soaps and cleansers as they can strip your skin of its natural oils and cause your skin to dry out
- Apply a rich moisturiser to create a thick protective and hydrating barrier
- Wear comfortable, loose clothing in natural fabrics and try to avoid the heat
- Apply some natural aloe vera gel or take a soothing oatmeal or calamine lotion bath to temporarily relieve the discomfort
Prevention is always the best method. Continue with good habits tips even after your itchiness has subsided, so you can avoid it flaring up again in the future.
Always read the label. Follow the directions for use.
