TIPS FOR EXFOLIATING YOUR FACE

HOW TO EXFOLIATE YOUR FACE

If your goal is youthful, glowing skin – you need to exfoliate regularly.

Exfoliating your face is crucial for removing layers of dead skin cells to reveal the healthy layers underneath. However, it’s important to exfoliate using the right technique.

HOW TO APPLY YOUR FAVOURITE FACE EXFOLIATOR

Always choose a gentle scrub to exfoliate your face. Follow these eight simple steps to lift away your skin’s rough exterior so you can enjoy brighter, smoother skin.

1. APPLY YOUR FACE EXFOLIATOR

Splash your face with warm water and apply the face exfoliator to your forehead, nose and chin.

2. START AT YOUR FOREHEAD

Begin scrubbing the centre of your forehead in a circular motion and work your way to your temples.

3. MOVE ONTO YOUR NOSE

Gently scrub your nose from bridge to tip.

Use slightly more intensive, upward circular motions on the edges of your nose to promote circulation and lymph drainage.

4. EASE OUT TOWARDS YOUR CHEEKS

Use gentler, upward circular motions as you move across your cheeks to your ears.

5. HEAD TO YOUR JAW

Scrub along your jaw bone to your chin on both sides.

6. FINISH AT YOUR NECK

Complete your scrub down towards your neck from the side of your chin.

7. RINSE

Rinse off your face exfoliator with lukewarm water and gently pat your face dry with a clean towel.

8. MOISTURISE

Lock in moisture by applying your favourite hydrating night cream before going to bed.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU EXFOLIATE?

For normal, combination, oily and impure skin, we recommend using a gentle face exfoliator once or twice a week. Although exfoliation is vital and provides many great benefits to your skin and complexion, remember not to get carried away. Over stimulating your skin can cause irritation, breakouts and potentially strip the skin of its protective barrier. Get to know your skin type and choose the products and techniques that are right for you. The key is to not overdo it.

Always read the label. Follow the directions for use.
