Cleaning your bathroom draws and cabinet

We’re all familiar with the feeling of trying to dig out your favourite lip balm from the draws, or looking for finding a skin care product you love only to find the bottle is empty. Keeping your draws neat & tidy is a good way to stay on top of your products, and also maintain a hygienic bathroom space.

So, here’s a few tips to get you on your way to a newly found clean space.

1. Clean inside & Out

The first step is often most the critical, in that removing everything from the bathroom storage spots and giving it a good wipe down is paramount. Sometimes product spillages or makeup brushes spread product throughout the area, which can cause mould to grow. So, it’s always a good idea to do a regular wipe down.

2. Sort through the stash

Products from 2, 5, 10 year back? We’re all guilty of it. Knowing when you products have expired is critical as you can cause harm to your skin if you continue to use something that is no longer suitable for use. For make up, your product may be expired if it’s separated, changed colour, texture or developed a film of chalky layer. If there’s no visible expiry date on the pack, it’s best to check with the brand through emailing their customer support line.

Here’s how to work it out for your NIVEA skincare:

For NIVEA skincare, we recommend the following:

After open, use product within 12 months. However, if you notice the packaging is damaged or cracked and/or the smell or feel of the product does not seem right – please contact our service line who will help you out!

3. Assess the space

If you have a look in the draw and at your products, you may realise different ways to place your products inside the areas without having to turn them diagonal and upside down side wards! Even better, using compartments that can separate the space can be useful as well, and great for sorting. You can even recycle some household containers such as jam jars or butter containers to sort your products best.
